Safe Passage
Read it. Log it. Pass it on.
Safe Passage keeps banned and challenged books moving from person to person, across communities.
Launched during Banned Books Week 2026.
We started with friends across ten U.S. states. Each received three books to pass along to new readers. From there, every book takes its own path.
The books
We launched with six titles, shared in bundles of three.
- Sold
- All Boys Aren’t Blue
- Last Night at the Telegraph Club
- Looking for Alaska
- Flamer
- Citizen 13660
Received a book?
- Read it. Enjoy the book.
- Log it. Add the date and your city and state to the reader card. No names needed.
- Pass it on. Give the book to someone new when you’re ready. Keep the card with the book.
The card stays with the book as a record of the places it has been.
